Wow! I don’t know about you, but there are three major handbag brands that I look forward to seeing the new collections, and one of them is Fendi. One of the reasons is because Lagerfeld is excellent at creating fabulous new styles of bags as well as re-inventing the classic styles. This season the new bags are similar to something Louis Vuitton did successfully a few years ago, the bag in a bag, however, Fendi put a new spin on it. Instead of the inside bag being removable, the attached lining has a drawstring closure, bringing the inside of the bag partially outside, a nod to the classic Fendi Peek a Boo. The new designs come in a variety of sizes and are a tote style shoulder bag.
Lagerfeld brought back the Silvana satchel, but for spring the bottom is woven leather that resembles a basket, and of course, every collection needs a clutch. For Spring, the evening bags are flat and square and while they may not hold a lot, they are beautiful, whether it’s the fox fur lined bag or the hieroglyphic patterned clutch.
