Frida Giannini, the designer for Gucci, created a blowout collection for Spring 2012, and the handbags are classic Gucci, rich and sophisticated. She designed around the theme Jazz Age revival, and for the bags that translated into top exotic materials, from crocodile to python, as a nod to the eras reputation for excess. The larger bags were totes with gold chain straps and a gold silk tassel charm. The smaller evening bags also had a gold chain strap and tassel detail, some with gemstone details. Gucci is celebrating its’ 90th birthday this week and this collection ensures another successful year ahead.
